My Story
Joel Wesonga is an aspiring lawyer who is dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of those struggling within the current immigration system. Joel's background as the son of immigrants from Kenya and Uganda fuels his unwavering mission as a part-time evening law student at Western New England University School of Law. With a deep understanding of the challenges faced by individuals seeking a better life in a foreign land, Joel is driven to bring about change and reform within the immigration system.

Prior to his journey in law, Joel graduated with a Bachelor of Science & Arts degree in Sociology and Urban and Community Studies from the University of Connecticut. Currently employed full-time in healthcare management, he also has previous experience as a social worker for the Department of Children and Families (DCF), offering him a distinct viewpoint and varied skill set.

As a first-generation law student, Joel is determined to effect positive change and ensure that the rights and needs of marginalized individuals are upheld with compassion and integrity. His commitment to justice, coupled with his personal experiences, makes him a promising force in the legal profession.
